15 minutes to go, on my 9th day of working at Benefit Cosmetics. It feels like I’ve been working here for ages already! After here I plan to go straight to the gym. I’m lucky enough to have it about 30 seconds from my office, but that doesn’t actually make going any easier!

I used to work part-time at a company called Ixion Holdings. It’s on the same street as I am now, only, I finished my work day at 2. I really enjoyed my afternoon and evenings free, to do as I please. Now, I finish at 5:30 every day, tired and headachey from a full day that to be honest, my body is still getting used to. My neck condition is making this extra difficult, but I’m ploughing on regardless! Because of this, however, my motivation to go to the gym has become severely lacking… I haven’t been in a week!

It occurred to me that now I’m working full time, like most adults, your personal, social and free time really is a gift and something I took for granted before hand. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of Jeremy Kyle if I get the chance, but now, I appreciate so much more the time I have to myself or for friends. I think it’s making me more productive, too. I’m focusing more on my own portfolio and blog, equipment and ideas I will need for my future freelance business. I also make sure I get so much more sleep as well… I need it!

I love this job. I know I’m good at what I do, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come without it’s stresses. Today, an example, was to complete a video for a showing to the CEO. Because of issue after issue after issue, it was held back until the last minute. As much as some of the footage wasn’t particularly wanted, the compliments I got were amazing. I prize myself on my perfectionist nature, and it goes to show that when you put the effort in it does pay off!

Now that my role has expanded more into PR as well as social media, my days tend to go quicker. I don’t mind this (as it means it’s almost lunch time!), but it also goes to show how time can really fly by. I love working and in doing so, making name for myself and improving my skills. But I don’t want to find I’ve reached 50 and I haven’t lived.

If this post tells you anything, it’ll be that time is precious. It really does go ‘in a blink of an eye’. So enjoy it, and yes, another cliché, live in the moment!
