Hans Zimmer

Hans Zimmer is quite simply one of the best composers I’ve ever listened to; if not THE best. His soundtracks give me those warm tingley feelings you get up your neck and goosebumps all over my body. When I close my eyes, I am instantly transported to the film, watching the story unfold before me. His music inspires me, makes me smile, and leaves me in a sort-of ‘calm’.
From Batman & Inception, to Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, I adore every piece he has done. I love a variety of music, but it’s his work that really made me fall in love with soundtracks. The music can often make the film in my opinion, and Hans gets it right every time. He’s clearly a perfectionist; with over 100 films beneath his belt, an Academy Award, 2 Golden Globes and 4 Grammys.
It’s this reason, alongside his music itself, that he inspires me.

Jessie J

Jessie J isn’t just a brilliant singer. She’s also a songwriter. I rarely listen to the ‘chart’ any more, simply because it is filled with commercialised, auto-tuned ‘performers’, who, when it comes down to it, aren’t particularly individual or unique. Jessie J no doubt has talent and her look is completely individual. Many compare her to Lady Gaga; but whilst they both dress more ‘out there’, but Jessie isn’t after attention (I love Lady Gaga, but her outfits are far more controversial and outrageous). I’ve seen her in interviews, & I’ve read magazine pieces where she explains about her health. Although her problems were completely different to mine, she openly said:

“…Having bad health has made me realise I can’t take anything for granted and I must look after my body.”

Attitudes like this are hard to come by; so I truly respect her for that.
She doesn’t smoke, drink or do drugs. She wants to be a great role model for young people and in this day and age, that is a rather remarkable and rare find.
Her drive, her passion and her talent inspire me to not let me health get in the way of anything, and to keep going at what I love.

Tom Hanks

I don’t even know where to being with Tom Hanks. Easily one of my all time favourite actors. Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, The Da Vinci Code, The Terminal, The Polar Express, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers. Just to mention a few of his brilliant works and some of my favourite films/series.
I’ve seen him in interviews, and he is such a humble and friendly man. There is no arrogance or hostility. He loves what he does, and he does it so bloody well. I’m still astounded by Band of Brothers, which he produced (with Steven Spielberg.) He loves people and has a great passion and understanding for them. If he didn’t, he’d never have been able to recreate the moving real-life accounts from Stephen Ambrose’s book.
He has achieved so much, and I have huge respect for him. He, unlike many other actors/actresses, captivates me when I watch him. He compels me, and I love to watch him in character.
His love for what he does, his passion for others and telling a story and his genius in acting are just some of the reasons as to why this man inspires me. I love him!
